TESIECS Intra-Africa mobility is an EU funded project which facilitates long-term and short-term student and staff mobilities among its African partner institutions to promote creative, locally contextual solutions to environmental challenges. The project is designed to facilitate capacity enhancement of academic, administrative and technical staff, and train cohorts of Masters and PhD postgraduate students to be environmental thought leaders and sustainability champions.

Target group one: Students currently registered at, admitted to or who have obtained a degree (or equivalent) from one of the four TESIECS participating institutions namely: the University of Johannesburg, the University of the Western Cape, the University of Zimbabwe, the University of Botswana, and Namibia University of Science & Technology.
Target group two: Students of any other public university in Africa. Students in this category may apply to any of the five TESIECS institutions.
NB: Each individual mobility has to be hosted in an African country, different from the country of nationality and of residence of the scholarship holders at the time they apply for the scholarship.
At the time they apply for a scholarship, candidates must be national of and resident in an African country.
Scholarship holders cannot benefit from another EU funded scholarship scheme (e.g., Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme, Erasmus+: Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees) to implement the same activity during their Intra-Africa mobility period.
Students will have to reimburse the financial support in case of incomplete or false declaration.
Students may not apply for scholarships for programmes in their current participating institutions or in their current country of study and/or original home country. E.g., former and current University of Johannesburg students cannot apply for scholarships to study further at the University of Johannesburg or the University of the Western Cape. However, if they are South African citizens, they qualify to apply as target group one students at the University of Zimbabwe, University of Botswana, and Namibia University of Science & Technology.
Students need to have a valid passport to qualify, as they are required to travel from their home country to the country of study
